Funding your studies

If you are choosing to study, or to go back to studying from full or part-time employment, it’s important to know what financial help is available. Here are some potential funding sources that are relevant to those studying to work in Gaelic Education.

The Students Awards Agency for Scotland provides financial support to students wishing to study higher education courses in Scotland. Students should apply to SAAS regarding tuition fees, loans or grants for both teacher training courses and Gaelic higher education courses.

Comunn na Gàidhlig, the Gaelic Development Agency, runs an annual bursary scheme for students on Gaelic Further Education and Higher Education courses. Priority is given to students on teacher training courses.
