Gaelicteaching.com Revamped

The site gaelicteaching.com is to be relaunched.

The site first went live in 2008 as part of Bòrd na Gàidhlig’s Gabh an Cothrom (take the opportunity) initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the benefits of a career in Gaelic teaching.

The new site includes an interactive route map showing the various different ways to become a Gaelic teacher, a google map which shows where every school offering Gaelic Education is located, as well as 19 videos featuring teachers all who have different experiences of Gaelic Education.  There are also separate areas offering tailored advice for different groups of people who may be interested in Gaelic teaching (school pupils, students, current teachers, parents and a change of career).

Cànan, a Gaelic Graphics Design company based in the Isle of Skye won the tender process to redevelop the site and the 19 videos were produced by Caledonia TV.

The site is available in both Gaelic and English, and will go live in the coming days
